Path of flavors and aromas
The food and wine itinerary go along the city of Capalbio, Magliano and Scansano where traditionally we find the typical Maremma cuisine, a simple cuisine that enhances the aromas and flavors of the ingredients through simple combinations.
Come and try the “new oil” bruschetta or chestnut flour desserts accompanied with wine, fresh and aged cheese varieties and the typical Maremma’s first courses such as home-made “Tortelli” stuffed with ricotta and spinaches or “Pappardelle” with wild boar sauce.
Furthermore, do not miss the opportunity to taste the most renowned wines of the Maremma, such as the famous Morellino di Scansano and the red DOCG, as well as DOC wines from Capalbio, Sovana and Parrina appreciated by locals.
There are many restaurants and “Trattorias” where you can taste traditional dishes cooked with local and genuine products; specifically, pasta still follows a home-made production, as it happens for the special cuts named “Tagliatelle” and “Pici”; The typical Capalbio soup named “Acqua Cotta” (“cooked water”) with eggs and vegetables is also worth a try.
Last, another recommended dish is the so-called “Buttera meat”, a beef steak served on a very characteristic oil-stone.
